Victor Osimhen has been left out of Napoli’s squad for the Coppa Italia match due to an injury or potential tactical reasons

Victor Osimhen’s absence from Napoli’s Coppa Italia match against Modena highlights the uncertainty surrounding his future with the club. Despite his substantial salary and the lack of participation in pre-season friendlies, Osimhen is reportedly focusing on individual training.

This situation reflects ongoing transfer speculation and potential changes in his career trajectory.

Despite signing a new contract in December with a €130 million release clause, Victor Osimhen’s future remains uncertain as no suitors have met this clause. Paris Saint-Germain, a prominent interested party, has yet to make an offer exceeding €100 million for the 25-year-old Nigerian striker.

Victor Osimhen turned down Chelsea’s attempt to include him in a deal with Romelu Lukaku, as he was unwilling to accept a loan move or a pay cut.

This leaves him with limited options, with reports suggesting he is awaiting a renewed offer from PSG or a serious proposal from Saudi Arabia.

Since joining Napoli from Lille for a club-record fee of over €70 million in 2020, Osimhen has become the team’s key player. His current contract with Napoli runs until June 30, 2026.
