Super Falcons midfielder Toni Payne is anticipating a tough challenge against Brazil in their opening fixture at the 2024 Olympic Games.
Randy Waldrum’s side will begin their quest for a podium finish at the Paris 2024 Olympics with a Group C clash against Brazil in Bordeaux on Thursday, July 25.
Brazil is ranked among the best footballing nations in the world.
Payne, who recently joined English club Everton, rated the Super Falcons as being on the same level as the Brazilians but acknowledged that Brazil would still be a tough opponent to overcome.
“Playing at the World Cup was an amazing experience, and being able to compete on the international stage with this team again is a great opportunity. I’m excited,” the former Sevilla player told NFF TV.
“Brazil is a tough team and talented, but as Nigeria, we are at their level, and it’s going to be a good match,” Payne said.
The Super Falcons will also face current world champions Spain and Japan in the same group.
