Manchester United have had enough of Andre Onana and his blunders, so they have reportedly turned their attention towards Juan Musso.
The Red Devils splashed circa £50 million to secure the services of the Cameroonian from Inter Milan in the summer of 2023. But despite producing occasional jaw-dropping saves, his knack for committing blunders has been incredibly costly, especially for a club that already has enough on the plate.
Therefore, the falling Premier League giants will be looking to address this issue in the summer and finding a replacement for the player who’s been dubbed by some supporters as the ‘worst goalkeeper in Man Utd history’.
According to Fichajes.net, one of the options could be Musso who is unlikely to dwell at Atletico Madrid beyond the current campaign.
While he might not be the most glamorous option, the 30-year-old is considered a safe pair of hands who boasts valuable experience in Europe’s Top leagues as well as the international stage. He was part of Argentina’s squad that lifted the Copa America in 2021.

Musso also won the Europa League with Atalanta last season, but Gian Piero Gasperini decided to offload him last summer following Marco Carnesecchi’s rise to prominence. Therefore, he joined his compatriot Diego Simeone at Atletico on loan with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.
But as expected, the Argentine couldn’t carve himself a starting berth in the presence of Jan Oblak. He only made a single appearance in LaLiga, and five in the Copa del Rey. At this stage, it remains unclear if the obligation-to-buy clause will be triggered, but in either case, Musso is unlikely to spend a second campaign in the Spanish capital.
So as the source tells it, Man Utd are keeping close tabs on the situation, and could decide to open talks for the experienced goalkeeper in the next few weeks.
We can also expect other candidates to emerge between now and the summer, but it remains to be seen if the management would be willing to shell out large figures on a world-class goalkeeper, or instead opt for a band-aid solution like Musso.
