Euro 2024: UEFA Clears Rice and Bellingham of Ban

England duo Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham will not face bans from UEFA for their controversial gestures during the Euro 2024 match against Slovakia, the governing body has announced.

Instead, UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against the English Football Association (FA) for crowd disturbances and lighting of fireworks during the match.

Rice was involved in a spat with opposition coach Francesco Calzona, while Bellingham had appeared to make a lewd gesture towards the Slovakia bench.

However, both players have been let off without any further action.

A UEFA spokesperson confirmed that the disciplinary proceedings will be handled by the Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body (CEDB) in due course.
